Holesail

P2P tunnels for instant access.

Holesail creates peer-to-peer tunnels so you can reach any device or service directly — no port forwarding, no VPN, and no cloud relay. Share a local server with a single connection key and connect from anywhere.

One key instead of an open port

Run Holesail next to any local service and it prints a connection key. Anyone holding that key reaches the service from their own machine. Nothing listens on a public port, and no server sits between the two ends.

shell

# share a local service
holesail --live 8080

# connect from another machine
holesail <connection-key>

Built on Pear

Holesail finds peers through HyperDHT and connects them with Hyperswarm, the same building blocks behind every Pear app. Each tunnel is hole-punched straight between the two machines and encrypted end to end.

Why peer-to-peer

  • No port forwarding and no firewall changes on either side

  • No VPN account or cloud relay between the two machines

  • Every tunnel is encrypted end to end between the peers
